«A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush». 

Lessico:
bird = uccello
hand = mano
is worth = vale  (to be worth = valere)
two = due
bush = cespuglio

Traduzione letterale: 

«Un uccello in mano ne vale due nel cespuglio».

Proverbio equivalente in italiano: 

«Meglio un uovo oggi che una gallina domani».
